Today is the day where couples will celebrate their love for each other. Sure, throw in the fancy gifts, the extravagant dinner, the excited squeal of delight when you surprise your girl, the big,wet smooches…

Right.

Trying to be nonchalant about today is like asking me to be nonchalant about walking down the street butt-naked. Yea, I could do that, really. I mean, it’s almost the same isn’t it? What have we, single people, have to lose anyways?

But let me be a grouch just for today. There’s no reason for us single people to be happy about, even if we tried. Try to put on that fake,plastic smile and tell your friends who are in a relationship:

‘Hey! OMG, like, Happy Valentines for you both! I’m so happy for your relationship! Good going!’

No, I’d say something like:

‘Hey, go ahead and walk down the street holding hands, I’ll be walking right behind you shouting: FUCK VALENTINES! IT’S SINGLE AWARENESS DAY!’
